Damon Peel – The Killer Hunters: Book One Lexi Book Spotlight

The Killer Hunters: Book One Lexi

The front cover of The Killer Hunters: Book One Lexi by Damon PeelWhat would you do if the slashers from horror movies didn’t stay inside the screen? Would you run? How far could you get? Would you fight? For how long? Could you do what was needed to survive?

For us none of those questions are hypothetical they are something that we have to answer day in and day out. Horror movies slashers are something that we have had to deal with for close to twenty years now. At first, we ran, wouldn’t you? Then we reach a turning point where running and hiding was not cutting it anymore. No now it was time for us to take the fight to them. The killers are now the ones being hunted by us.

That being said it might be time to recruit a new member, after all it is not like I will be around forever to protect Lance and stick it to the killers.

Part One: The New Recruit, Page 55

Excerpt: “Hey wait a minute, if they are still outside, what was the noise we heard if it was them trying to get out of the storm wouldn’t they be inside right now.” As I say this we all hear what sounds like footsteps behind us.

Ruth instantly flips around with her flashlight I barely start to turn around to look when Ruth yells “Run, Suze get her out of here and get help”. Suze yanks me back the other way keeping me from seeing what Ruth had saw as we take off running.

“We’re going to be okay, just don’t look back okay?” Suze says this in a frantic voice.

Behind us is Ruth bringing up the rear at this point I am terrified.

There is also another Crash! Smash! Crash! From the direction of the front door. Behind me I can hear Ruth mumbling something. “Those fucking stupid boys must of heard me yell, shit I can’t just let them come in here like that.” We hear Ruth stop running behind us and then we hear her voice. “You guys go ahead I have to go back”

Suze hand tightens around mine, but we don’t stop running Suze simply yells out. “Fine, but you better come back to me, you’re not allowed to not come back.” Suze’s voice truly terrifies me more than anything I have ever felt in my life. Her voice as she said that was filled with fear and nothing scares her. We are making good progress running back to the gym we are only about a hall away when I slip on something and with how tight Suze was holding my hand as I fell I took her down with me. “Ouch, that hurt so bad. What did I slip on? It took me a moment to realize that I had taken Suze down with me. At this point I am crying both from pain and fear. I know what you might be thinking, but I don’t care call me a cry baby because I am crying at 13 years old, I don’t care.

“Are you okay Lexi, can you still walk” Suze ask me, but her voice sounds weak.

I wipe some tears from my face, “I’m fine, sorry I caused you to fall. I can still walk, but what did I slip on.” I say still horribly shaken.

I start to stand up and realize that I’m no longer holding Suze’s hand. “Suze are you okay” I say in a panicked voice.
